Shaky acting and sometimes unconvincing special effects do little to dampen the goofy fun, and the plot — while familiar — delivers everything you might want in a swashbuckling pirate film. Pirates: Quest for Snake Island is a rollicking adventure with action, romance and humor from prolific director Brett Kelly Prey for the Beast. It just didn't quite look like a movie to me. The pacing was a little too slow and stiff but it has some good moments. Less effort on the whole, really. Ever since, people have spilled blood, burned villages, and evaded marauding pirates to hold on to this treasure, but it vanished into history. Much better is Barry Caiger as the governor, though sadly his appearance is rather brief. Chart a course for adventure! Action scenes could have been longer and clearer as to what is going on. The sound mixing was okay.
The front cover looked kinda cool though! The plot if it can be called that was pretty lame also. Unfortunately, what really kills this movie was the accents.
